What is the Baldwin First Home Grant?

The Baldwin County First Time Home Buyers Grant is designed to promote safe and healthy living environments for families purchasing their first home in Baldwin County. It provides $1,000 grants to eligible first-time homebuyers—or $1,500 for those with current or former military affiliation. Funds are limited; no amount is guaranteed. Who Qualifies?

To be eligible, you must meet all of the following criteria:

• Be a first-time homebuyer.

• The home must be located in Baldwin County, Alabama.

• The property must be your primary residence.

• The sales price must not exceed $350,000.

• The purchase must be financed with a mortgage of 15 years or more.

• The transaction must be facilitated by a REALTOR® member of Baldwin REALTORS®.

• You must apply for the grant within 90 days after closing.

• Completion of Homeowner Training Courses below is required before closing:

  • Fannie Mae Training Course OR Freddie Mac Training Course

To apply, you’ll need to submit:

• Buyer Agency or Purchase Agreement with your REALTOR®.

• Closing Statement.

• Homebuyer Training Certificate (Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac course).

• Driver's License.
